A guide to filling quantities
Standard-size beanbag: about 250 litres
That is roughly one bag of filling, as a guide only.
Cover sizes vary considerably, especially custom-made covers, so we cannot guarantee an exact number of bags. If your cover came with a filling guide, use that as your starting point.
It can be useful to keep some filling aside in secure, dry storage for top-ups later. Workshop refills are charged by the actual weight added.

Check the zip
It must open fully and close again. A broken zip means we cannot fill the cover.

Bring it as it is
No need to empty your beanbag beforehand. We will remove and dispose of the used beads if you are replacing the filling, or top up what is there.

Plan your visit
Booking is advised so we can prepare. Come during opening hours, preferably before 12:00 or after 13:00. You are welcome to drop off your bag and collect later.

- Do I need to book?
- Booking is not compulsory, but it is advised so we can prepare accordingly. During our opening hours, it is best to come before 12:00 or after 13:00. You are also welcome to drop off your beanbag and collect it later; arrange collection with the team.
- Why must the cover have a zip?
- We fill through the zip and close it before you leave. A cover with no zip cannot be closed at the counter and the beads spill on the way home, so we do not fill those.
- How do you work out the price?
- After removing any old beads being replaced, we weigh the cover before and after adding new filling. For a top-up, we weigh it with the retained filling first. You pay for the kilograms added, starting from R49/kg for EPS or EPP regrind, R109.00/kg for virgin bead.
- Do I need to empty my beanbag first?
- No. Bring it as it is. If you are replacing the filling, we will remove and dispose of the used beads at the workshop. Let us know whether you want a top-up or a replacement.
- Can I top up a bag that still has some beads in it?
- Yes. Most refills are top-ups. We weigh what is there, add until it sits right, and charge only for what we added.
- Can you fill several covers for a business?
- Yes. Bring the covers to our workshop; we do not fill them at your premises. Contact us first for batch orders so we can arrange a drop-off, confirm turnaround and determine the charge from the actual filling added. Several covers may need more than one working day.
